A self-catering event venue
Nothing brings people together like good food
When hosting an event at Cambridge Town Hall you can opt to self-cater using our kitchen facilities, or engage a caterer. This helps you to have better control over your budget and gives you more freedom of choice, whether you’re serving casual kai, finger food or fine dining. Our kitchen facilities have recently been upgraded, offering increased scope for catering, so do visit us to see if our venue works for you.
Serve the best of the Waikato
We're proud to offer a budget-friendly self-catering event venue, but if you choose to have your event professionally catered, you’ll have some excellent options. Cambridge and its surrounds have long been described as a huge maara kai (food garden), and with good reason. Our growers produce some of the best food in the country and many of our creative local caterers take full advantage of having award-winning fresh ingredients at hand.
Raise a glass
From 1 February 2026, we will move to both selling and serving alcohol on-site. The new licence won’t permit you to provide your own alcohol, so you can use our bars to serve alcohol to your guests. We’re committed to offering affordable, competitive, budget-friendly prices at our bar.
Before the new licence starts in February 2026, you’re welcome to provide (but not sell) your own alcohol to your guests. Remember, if you plan to sell alcohol at your event, a special licence from Waipa District Council is required and can be obtained by applying at least 20 working days beforehand (or 30 working days for a large event). It’s best to discuss your plans with us before proceeding.
